Assistant Controller
Dallas, TX

One of Vaco's publicly-traded, international clients is looking to onboard an Assistant Controller due to an internal promotion. They are looking for someone with prior SEC reporting experience and consolidations experience - experience with foreign currencies is a huge plus! The Assistant Controller will also be managing day-to-day operational accounting as well.

Company offers: strong growth tracks internally (Current Controller started as Manager, the SVP of Finance started as a Senior Analyst)

Day-to-day

• Assist in the preparation of financial statements in compliance with official guidelines and requirements
• Support month-end and year-end close processes
• Drafting quarterly 10-Q and annual 10-K financial statements and other regulatory filings.
• SOX oversight, monitoring of internal controls
• Manage accounting transactions and reconciliations, including accounts payable/receivable, general ledger, and payroll
• Prepare budgets and forecasts, and report on variances
• Assist in ensuring compliance with accounting policies and regulatory requirements
• Participate in financial audits and coordinate audit activities
• Analyze financial data and provide insights to support decision-making
• Help develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls
• Supervise accounting staff and provide guidance as needed Looking for:
  • Prior experience managing SEC financial reporting including filings and associates footnotes
  • CPA or CPA in-process
  • Leadership experience over the full scope and breadth of accounting operations
  • Servant leader mentality with a strong focus on mentorship and growth
  • Exposure to large, publicly traded operations

      Determining compensation for this role (and others) at Vaco depends upon a wide array of factors including but not limited to:
      • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
      • licensure and certification requirements;
      • office location and other geographic considerations;
      • other business and organizational needs.
        With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
